Magic from Myth Storytelling & Coding for Young People

Magic from Myth Storytelling & Coding for Young People

Our Magic from Myth Storytelling and Coding workshop series sees us collaborate with CoderDojo Brighton. This is the Brighton branch of nationwide, free coding club for young people aged 6-16, CoderDojo. Our combined workshops will prioritise SEN(D) young people, enabling them to develop interpersonal and professional skills in a safe and supportive environment beyond the classroom and are to be delivered before March 2025.

In order to facilitate this, AOD Actors of Dionysus has been successful in securing a grant from the Brighton & Hove City Council Shared Prosperity Fund. The workshops will be part of a pilot for a larger scheme, as we aim to replicate the series across the country in collaboration with the various branches of CoderDojo that already exist nationwide, exploring myths unique to each locale.

With the involvement of charity Raspberry Pi the potential of this project, which tackles opportunity and economic deficit head on, is enormous. It provides opportunities for members of the community to connect and collaborate, while developing a ranging skillset that boosts employability and prospects. Three areas of the community most affected by the cost of living crisis can be reinvigorated as centres of inclusivity, creativity and innovation.

Further funding is been sought from other Foundations, but AOD Actors of Dionysus is keen to hear from anyone who is interested in taking part in this exciting project.
