Sixth Form

Workshops

Workshops for Sixth Form are designed to directly help students in their studies toward A level and other equivalent qualifications. Suitable for both Classical Civilisation and Drama/Theatre Studies. they can focus on any of the major ancient Greek texts or works inspired by ancient Greek texts. They can be designed for your students’ specific needs, focussing on areas such as the Chorus, Ancient & Modern Staging, Context and Character.

Duration 2 – 3 hours.

It was a pleasure to have Will. Our 6th formers found it useful in recapping Lysistrata and Ancient Greek theatre conventions through practical work and really enjoyed it. It was also great for our year 11’s to be introduced to their set text for A level. Will was great and students thought he was lovely.

Classics Days

Our specially curated Classics / Enrichment Days involve both academic and practical exploration of Ancient Greek drama, and offer larger groups of students the opportunity to take part over a longer period of time and can be designed to fit your particular specification.

Classics Days usually run for the whole day and are suitable for Key Stage 5, Drama, Classics, History or English students. We work with multiple Greek plays, and sessions are tailored toward different age groups. Two or three members of our company lead the event, each bringing a different area of expertise and teaching style with them, to give students a fuller understanding of the context and conventions of Greek drama.

Classics Days may involve a dynamic powerpoint presentation, an imaginative lecture, discussion groups, practical workshops and short performances/performed readings from AOD Actors of Dionysus.

Duration : Full day.
