Workshop at Bishop Thomas Grant School

Secondary

Workshops

Workshops for Secondary school students can act as an introduction to the world of ancient Greek theatre and are designed to support student learning in Drama and Theatre Studies as well as Classical Civilisation GCSE.  Workshops are practical and hands on in nature, can be tailored to your specific needs and can focus on any of the major Greek texts.

Duration 2 – 3 hours

It was impressive how much information and practical work was covered in a two-hour workshop. The students were able to produce exciting and thought-provoking performance work in a very short space of time.

Classics Days

Our specially curated Classics / Enrichment Days involve both academic and practical exploration of Ancient Greek drama, and offer larger groups of students the opportunity to take part over a longer period of time and can be designed to fit your particular specification.

Classics Days usually run for the whole day and are suitable for Key Stage 3 and 4, Drama, Classics, History or English students. We work with multiple Greek plays, and sessions are tailored toward different age groups. 2 or 3 members of our company lead the event, each bringing a different area of expertise and teaching style with them, to give students a fuller understanding of the context and conventions of Greek drama.

Classics Days may involve a dynamic powerpoint presentation, an imaginative lecture, discussion groups, practical workshops and short performances/performed readings from AOD Actors of Dionysus.

Duration : Full day
