Wonder Women of the Ancient World – Ariadne

Award-winning Bee in my Beanie joined forces with aod actors of dionysus to share the magical tale of Ariadne and the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur! The first in our Wonder Women of the Ancient World series – Ariadne performed at Brighton Fringe in 2021 and was written by Bee in my Beanie, directed by Tamsin Shasha and starred Tess Agus as Ariadne, Mark Katz as Theseus (& other roles) and Katherine Sturt-Scobie as the puppet Argos. This family show was restaged in 2022 again at Brighton Fringe with Tamsin Shasha as Ariadne and won the FUSE International Best of Brighton Fringe Children & Family award.

The story revisits the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur from the perspective of our intrepid heroine Ariadne. Join our story Archeologists on a magical interactive adventure and help them rediscover a forgotten hero and play games along the way. Full of bubbles, fun and puppet mayhem!

This production is recommended for children ages 4-7 but will suit the whole family. Come and enjoy storytelling at its finest!

  • This was one of my son’s first outdoor theatre experiences. He was only 4 years old back then and he really enjoyed the show. The actors interacted with the audience, providing an immersive and unique experience. Even I learned things about Greek Mythology that I was not aware of! Six months after the show, my son and I still talk about it and he keeps showing off the key he was given to all his friends. Overall, a great experience that we would love to repeat. Thanks a million AOD. You rock!

  • Lovely play which kept the kids engaged even in the rain! A nice, funny, entré to Classical myths. Especially liked the bean moves!
